While global fish stocks plummet from overfishing, habitat loss, and pollution, demand for seafood is on the rise. NRDC and partners have produced the Common Vision for Sustainable Seafood, guidelines for what large retail food chains, such as Whole Foods and Stop & Shop, can do to ensure a healthy future for fish. Suggestions include selling environmentally responsible seafood as well as preparing sales staff to help seafood buyers choose sustainable fish.
