Since fall 2006, NRDC has been pressing Chile to develop a progressive energy policy based on renewable, efficient energy and similar to California's rather than move forward with a plan to build five dams in Patagonia, one of the world’s last untouched regions. The drumbeat may be paying off: this past June, Chilean president Michelle Bachelet came to California, where she signaled her country’s intent to accelerate a move toward sustainable power, particularly solar-thermal.

California have 1400 dams with Oregon and Washington the have more than 3030 dams.Why if they are so bad the good people of CA OR and Washington tha dams are not destroy ?? there are dams build by the Romans more that 2000 years ago still in working status....Rome fall but not the dams....right now canada are building dams and Quebec -hydro made contract with new York un til the year 2032....the newyorkers are also crazy???
