OnEarth Now on Flipboard for the iPad
OnEarth is available in Flipboard's Science section.
Since my wife surprised me with an iPad for Father’s Day (thanks again, babe!), one of my favorite discoveries on my new toy is the Flipboard app, which turns any RSS feed or social media network -- including Twitter and Facebook -- into a magazine-like display. It’s now my preferred way of browsing friends’ updates and scrolling through my gigantic Google Reader backlog. (The folks at Apple like it, too, naming it 2010’s “iPad app of the year.”)
So I’m especially happy that OnEarth is now available to Flipboard users in the app’s Science section. Add us to your favorites and you can read all of our stories, columns, and blog posts on Flipboard, as well as our recommendations for the best environmental pieces we find elsewhere.
This is just one of many new ways -- aside from our magazine and website -- that you can read OnEarth’s print and online offerings. Our publisher, NRDC, recently launched its own iPad app that features OnEarth stories, along with posts from NRDC’s staff blog and videos from the film division. Our recent “Arctic Fever” cover story is available on the Kindle, and we’re working to add more there, as well. And of course, you can always connect with us on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr, or sign up to get our email newsletter, which arrives in your inbox twice a month.
All of this is part of our commitment to make OnEarth available to you in whatever format you choose, from paper to pixels. Where else would you like to read our stories? Let us know, and we’ll get to work on it! (And let your favorite publisher, app, or device know that you’d like to see OnEarth there, too.)
