On Earth Day, NRDC founding director John Adams threw the opening pitch at Fenway Park. Right before his turn on the mound, Adams accepted an EPA environmental award on behalf of NRDC. The institution was honored along with the Boston Red Sox for their joint efforts to green the historic ballpark by 2012.
