Bernhard Poetter: OnEarth Author

Bernhard Poetter worked for 12 years on the environment/economy desk of the national daily paper die tageszeitung in Berlin, Germany. He specialized in topics such as nuclear policy, agriculture and consumer policy, international sustainability policy and climate change. Poetter now works as a freelance author for German and Austrian media such as DIE ZEIT, die tageszeitung, GEO and Der Standard (Vienna) and for OnEarth Magazine.

Poetter is currently working on a book on climate change, due to be published fall 2008. As part of his reporting, Poetter is visiting places where the effects of climate change are already being felt.

Potter received a bachelors degree in American Studies, Law and Political Science from Free University Berlin and Indiana University, Bloomington. He is married, has three children and lives in Paris, France.
