Carl Safina: OnEarth Author

Scientist and author Carl Safina was fascinated by the ocean and its creatures as a child, and he's main-tained that sense of awe ever since. He was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2000 for his marine conservation work, and his book The Eye of the Albatross (Henry Holt) received the 2003 John Burroughs Medal.
