Harriet Rohmer is the author of HEROES OF THE ENVIRONMENT: True Stories of People who are Helping to Protect our Planet--published in fall, 2009, by Chronicle Books in partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council.

She is the founder and former Publisher and Executive director of Children's Book Press, the award-winning publisher of bilingual and multicultural picture books. Books that she has edited or written have won over 100 major awards, including the American Book Award, the Coretta Scott King Award, and the Ezra Jack Keats Award. She lives in San Francisco.
