Ben--I'd argue that your model holds even for city's like SF. As an Oaklander who takes her bike across the bay, I beat the traffic AND public transit every time. C
Agree - Applies in London too. Without a doubt during the day I can get places faster on my bike than by car or TFL and I'm not completely risking my life because London has a very good network of bike lanes. HK
