Opinions and observations from environmental experts, activists, and luminaries

Thank you for the blatant truth and investigation. I am following Paul Stamets, the mycologist who has done so much work with bioremeditation using mycelia. See his recent article here about the spill: http://www.fungi.com/mycotech/petroleum_problem.html

This mycelia rehab deserves more press. OnEarth would be a great venue for this info....

Even if they survive, what happens to those that eat the blue crab whether fish or human? This disaster is immeasurable and catastrophic! I believe its affects will last for decades. Poor turtles, birds, dolphin, fish, shrimp and the thousands of other living things that live, eat and breed in these waters. God bless.

What is truly amazing -- unbelievable! -- is that some Gulf Coast legislators are actually advocating CONTINUED drilling in deep water "to save jobs". WHICH jobs? Those of the oil workers? Certainly not the jobs of the hundreds of thousands of workers who depend on fishing and the export of famous Gulf Coast seafood all over the U.S. Where is the weak-kneed Obama Administration on this? Why haven't THEY stepped in to retrain the oil workers for other occupations? Why has Obama waited TWO MONTHS to nail down (sort of) an agreement with BP to cover income of unemployed workers? LBJ had a LOT of faults, starting with Vietnam, but everybody was afraid of him; he had fabulous people skills -- unlike the present wooly-witted apologist for torture and "extraordinary rendition", inter alia.
Obama, grow a pair!
