Ever since reports surfaced yesterday about an enormous blue eye that washed up on Pompano Beach, Florida, blogs and Facebook have been flooded with guesses about who the unfortunate owner of such an oversized orb could be. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has sent the eye to scientists in St. Petersburg for identification. Update: And the eye belonged to ... a swordfish! Poor swordfish.
