Soaring electricity use by new electronic devices imperils climate change efforts

"Efforts by countries worldwide to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy security are in trouble if nothing is done to check the energy gobbled by both information and communication technologies and consumer electronics. This warning came in a report published yesterday in Paris by the International Energy Agency. Formaldehyde Linked to More Common Cancers

"New research raises additional concerns about the harmful effects of formaldehyde, a common chemical found in everything from plywood to nail polish, car exhaust and cigarette smoke...The new study -- the largest to date on workplace exposures -- provides further evidence linking formaldehyde with cancers of the blood and lymphatic system. These cancers are far more common, affecting nearly 140,000 Americans a year."  [USA Today]
