The Autumn issue of "Birdscope" publication from the CornellLab of Ornithology (Sapsucker Woods) has a story by Laura Erickson, "Acoustic Smog and Whales."  The story is about a bioacoustics research program working with government, industry and scientists to evaluate and reduce the effects of "the din beneath the waves."
