TVA Piping Coal Ash Straight into Emory River

This is a video of one of the UMD field persons showing how TVA is straight piping coal ash scum directly into the Emory River. It really makes no sense that they would go to the trouble of putting a boom up to keep the scum from getting into the river then they pump it directly into the river from where they catch it.

OMG!!!! I want this plastered all over the news! Why aren't we seeing this on the news??? I want the TVA held accountable for this disaster that has occurred and the much bigger one in the making...all these rivers flow into the ocean and toward other communities. We will all be sickened by this!!
Thank you sooo much for doing these videos and thanks to the NRDC for their diligent work in caring for our environment. What would we do without people like you? Keep the videos and reports coming and let us know what we can do to organize and fight against this!

    Connee--
You can start by sending a message to TVA through the NRDC's action center: http://www.nrdconline.org/campaign/nrdcaction_011409.

You can also visit United Mountain Defense's site (www.unitedmountaindefense.org) and consider donating to them. They're doing great work on the ground and are in need of funds.
