Elizabeth Beachy

Elizabeth Beachy is an international public health consultant and co-founder and co-owner of Nuprana.com, a socially-minded business dedicated to water conservation. 

She is particularly concerned about the many ways that population growth, the environment, and public health directly affect one another, and hopes to help mitigate the damage we do to our planet and our children.

Experience

Elizabeth Beachy has lived and worked in 4 continents, speaks 5 languages, and most recently spent 7 years between Haiti and the Dominican Republic addressing health problems through social marketing.  After leaving Population Services International in 2007, she began working as a consultant with several non-profit organizations.  In July of 2008 she and her husband founded Nuprana.com, to add their drop to the water conservation movement.

    ALBUQUERQUE-  As a new mother, I've done everything I can to keep my son healthy and increase his chances of becoming a strong, successful individual.  I had a natural childbirth with no drugs.  He was exclusively breastfed.  At 9 months, he now only eats organic fruits, vegetables, grains and meat, and he continues to breastfeed.  I braved the mess of cloth diapers, and use only gel-free, fragrance-free, dye-free disposables as an alternative.  I've tried to educate myself about all the harmful contaminants he could be exposed to, and do my best to protect him from them.

    Yet there is one source of contaminants that I haven't been able to do much about:  Our drinking water.
